A New Playground For FCELC!

A New Playground For FCELC!

First Church Early Learning Center invites the public to a grand opening celebration for its newly-renovated playground. The event will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4 at 107 Palisado Avenue, Windsor, CT. A ribbon cutting ceremony with Windsor's Mayor Don Trinks will take place at 3:15.

"Our new playground isn't just a great place for imaginative play: it's an extension of the indoor classroom," says FCELC Director Kate Bodmer. Students have already planted vegetables, herbs, and fruit in the beds adjoining the playground equipment.

First Church Early Learning Center, established in 1956, is a nonsectarian educational facility licensed to care for children ages three through six. In this family-like atmosphere, children can develop their sense of self-esteem and self-expression through a self-paced early childhood curriculum. Through play-based learning, the children have the opportunity to explore a variety of areas in the classroom including art, blocks, science, math, sensory, dramatic play, and manipulatives to enhance their critical thinking skills. For more information on FCELC, contact Kate Bodmer at 860-688-4597.
